Nesting shorebirds feast on the seaweed and plants that wash up on the beach at high tide. The birds aren’t particularly interested in the plants, they prefer the small invertebrates within. We might find sand crabs, moles, maybe even a marine tardigrade.  Bryozoa growing on some of the seaweeds and those might look cool under a microscope.

This family festival style event is sponsored by the NYC Parks Department.
