Diaczuk received his Ph.D. in criminal justice with a concentration in forensic science from the CUNY Graduate Center in New York. He is a professor of criminalistics in the Department of Sciences at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Diaczuk is a member of several forensic science organizations. He just completed his term as the Section Chair for Criminalistics in the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) and on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Criminalistics (ABC). He is a past president of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists (NEAFS) and the New York Microscopical Society (NYMS). Diaczuk enjoys research involving firearms, ammunition and ballistics. He has given over a dozen workshops on shooting reconstruction and trace evidence, and has been presenting author on 134 presentations at forensic science conferences and scientific symposia.
